Accident, Sickness & Unemployment Insurance
What is Accident, Sickness & Unemployment Insurance (ASU)?
ASU is an insurance policy which has two parts, accident and sickness cover, and redundancy cover.
Accident and Sickness Cover
If you are not able to work due to an accident or illness, your employer may continue to pay your salary, although possibly only for a limited period.
Accident and sickness cover provides a monthly benefit to help you meet your monthly financial commitments until you can return to work (upto a set period of time).
Redundancy Cover
Should you be made redundant this policy provides you with a monthly benefit to help you to meet your monthly financial commitments until you find alternative employment (upto a set period of time). In September 2008, 1.82 million people were unemployed in the UK - the last time the number of unemployed people was higher was in December 1997*, so it's wise to make sure you are protected in case the worst should happen.
As with all insurance policies, terms, conditions, restrictions and exclusions will apply. For your personal illustration please complete the information required below.
A Key Facts Document will be given to you with your personal illustration.
For the full policy conditions, including restrictions and exclusions, please always refer to the policy documents.
Please note, that this type of plan is usually underwritten at the time of the claim, rather than at the time you make your application. If your circumstances change while the policy is in force, you must inform the provider.
